artist statement v3
My recent works is more than just the process of combining my photography and my paintings. There is a deeper meaning within each image that is different towards each other that I find it hard to express in words deep down within the sub-consciousness. I’m trying to find something beyond the theories I’ve learned in Women’s Studies and also beyond the intersections of identity. Such as, I’m am exploring intimacy, desire, shame and tragedy through past experiences and not take it for granted, but to live past it and learn to love one another. Instead of policing each other through the critique of the body, first I want to show acceptance and self-empathy before empathy for others, to love myself and forget about all the insecurity that life has brought me.
